FOODIMAR Partners explore the Turkish Industry

On June 27 our FOODIMAR partners had the opportunity to visit the Kilic Seafood Company Processing Facility in beautiful Bodrum, Türkiye.

The team had the opportunity to tour the facility and observe the full processing line—from fish reception through descaling, gutting, filleting, packaging, and dispatch, all the way to wastewater treatment. 💧📦

The visit also opened discussions for a potential partnership to carry out a sustainability assessment, identifying environmental hotspots and exploring ways to improve the overall impact of fish processing operations.

Understanding where seafood side-streams are generated is essential for assessing their full environmental, social, and economic impact. It also helps us move toward a more holistic and efficient valorisation of these by-products, in line with our goal of advancing a sustainable blue economy.
