The FOODIMAR project was proud to be featured at the fourth regional workshop of the Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership, held in Sopot, Poland, during the 4th Mission Arena hosted by the Blue Mission BANOS Project.
Invited to present our work, we had the opportunity to share how FOODIMAR is advancing the valorisation of seafood side-streams through circular and climate-smart innovations. Our contribution to the World Café session allowed for an engaging exchange on the future of fisheries, aquaculture, and the circular bioeconomy—critical sectors for the Baltic region and beyond.
The full-day workshop brought together key voices from research, policy, and industry to address five priority themes, including blue bioresources, coastal resilience, and sustainable sea use. A particular focus was placed on regional challenges and opportunities in the Baltic Sea, with the FOODIMAR project offering concrete examples of how circular solutions can support both environmental sustainability and economic development.
We’re grateful to the Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership for the invitation and to IOPAN for hosting such a dynamic and collaborative event. The insights gained in Sopot will feed into future regional strategies.
